The May long weekend in Canada means that many people will be heading out on the road to get out for some much-needed relaxation. We would like to remind all Canadians of the importance of road safety as the provincial highways which will be packed with even more drivers including motorcycles and holiday trailers.
Officials say that May 2016 has already been a deadly month on Alberta’s highways, with 17 deaths due to crashes, with seven of those under the age of 20. RCMP will be patrolling provincial highways, watching for dangerous drivers and speeders throughout the long weekend.
Please take your time and drive with caution to get where you want to go and once you arrive, please remember to enjoy the long weekend responsibly. Safety does not end when you arrive at your destination, so be proactive and responsible during your holidays.
This weekend should be one that is filled with good memories and not one that results in more statistics. On behalf of WISE Intervention Services Inc., please be safe!
